The fleet system gave staff one place to run operations. The client portal is the other side of it: the same trip, seen by the traveller, with a direct line to their driver.
The problem
Once a driver is assigned, the client needs to reach them and the office needs to see that conversation. On personal phones it goes wherever the traveller saved a number: invisible to the team, lost when a driver changes.
A portal only helps if it beats sending a WhatsApp message. That set the bar for how little friction the sign-in could carry.
What I built
A deliberately small surface. It does one job, for someone who is travelling and on their phone.
- Sign-in by emailed link, so a client who uses it twice a year has no password to reset.
- Messaging with the assigned driver, scoped to the booking so the history travels with the trip.
- Trip detail read from the same records the operations team works from.
